Everything Your Students Need to Master Cursive Writing
CursiveLogic: Learn Cursive (All grades) is a 14-week program leading to cursive mastery. Every student who is new to CursiveLogic starts here, regardless of grade. CursiveLogic teaches all 26 lowercase letters in five weeks. The program begins by introducing proper cursive form. Each of the next four weeks teaches a group of letters that share one basic shape. The week starts by training students to form the first stroke correctly. Then, by repeating the first stroke and completing each letter, students write the entire letter string. Finally, by rearranging letters from a single string, students write actual words at the end of the week.
After learning the four lowercase strings, students spend the next six weeks learning capital letters and reinforcing the skills they learned during the first five weeks. Over the final three weeks, students refine their technique and complete a capstone activity — writing and mailing a thank you note. At the end of 14 weeks, students have excellent penmanship and a firm command of cursive.
